the handmade Portuguese possession (take 2)

Hi everyone! =)
Here we are again with this new topic - a portuguese handmade object.
Today we present the selection of our team mate Miriam (elefante, é a vida!).

elefante, é a vida!, can you share with us the handmade Portuguese possession you most cherish? Tell us a bit more about it.

I have a lot of portuguese handmade objects in my home. I really like to mix industrial new objects with vintage and handmade ones. It gives personality to the space and it contributes to became really a home. I love the portuguese baskets and I have a few here in my home as like in my parents home. So today I choosed three of it to show you. The biggest one is very very old and I found it in my parent's attic, I use it to put some magazines and newspapers but it was perfect to to put some needles and yarn. The littlest one, with details in green and red, I usually use to keep little things in my work desk.  And the rounder one with the cover, my favourite, I use to keep some tape measures =) This last one, as well as I know, is a traditional basket from Algarve and it was given to me almost 30 years ago by some friends of my parents.

the handmade Portuguese possession

Hello everyone, we are starting a new weekly feature, short and graphic, introducing our team members and to know a little more about them, through a simple question:

Fric de Mentol, can you share with us the handmade Portuguese possession you most cherish? Tell us a little bit more about it.

 painted rocks

I love the rocks my parents (both Portuguese) used to paint on the summer vacations. These ones were painted in 1975, 3 years before I was born and there's a special one dated 'September 1st', it's their wedding anniversary. There are plenty more, at my progenitor's home. They are so colorful, with happy patterns and shapes that inspire my work everyday.

PTteam says Hi!

Hello everyone,

It's an enormous pleasure being here making the 1st post on the Portuguese Etsy team's blog.
The PTteam is a team on Etsy from around the world, gathered to love Portugal.
The leadership is composed by the Captain (fricdementol) and 3 leaders (lacunawork ,  miriam and nanouke).
Our team includes a variety of gorgeous, quality handmade works from several categories and we also have some superb vintage shops.
We are very happy and pleased with the creativity and every fabulous shop on our team and we'll work together to serve the best interests of the teammates and to improve our business.

Miriam made our logo, it couldn't be better, fresh and straight!
It has a touch of the Portuguese flag's colors and the number 560, an identity.

Why 560?
560 is the  'International Article Number' barcode for Portugal.
Almost every Portuguese product begins with those numbers.
The Movimento 560 (560 Movement) was born in 2005, an independent online project from 3 young university students, and wants to value the Portuguese products by providing information to help the customers identify what is made in Portugal.
They also encourage all of us to be proud of the national productions and to consume mainly Portuguese products, helping the local markets / producers, also the small business and, of course, the health of our economy.

Our team shares the thoughts and totally supports this movement, mostly because the PTteam products are made with Portugal in our hearts!
Go team :)
